Sydney Pendergast-Introduction

 Hi! My Name is Sydney, I am from Omaha, NE. This is my senior year at UNL. I recently changed my major to Communications with a minor in psychology. I am loving my classes so far and excited about where this will take me. I love my dog, Taffy, and spending time with my family and friends. I like to stay busy and involved with my internship, two jobs and volunteer activities.

I have taken a number of online classes before. I think they are nice because you can do the work when it is most convenient and that helps me since I have a very busy schedule. However, I find that it takes more organization and self- motivation to be successful in online courses since all the work and learning is being done on your own.

I wanted to take this course because I think intercultural communication is increasingly more important in our world today. Business is global and communicating with people from other cultures is an important life skill. I hope to be able to study abroad in the near future and travel many places around the world someday, I think this class will help me learn to navigate those situations.
