My name is Kate Nevanen and I am a sophomore majoring in Broadcastings and minoring in Communications. I am 19 years old and am from Hastings, Minnesota. I have taken a few online classes and have enjoyed them. They take much more dedication and I have learned that I need to put hard work into the class to receive the grade I want.


I am taking this course because I think it is a good start for my new minor in Communications. Intercultural communication specifically because I am thinking about studying abroad and I think this course would show me the difference lifestyle in many different countries. Possibly help me chose where to go! I know there are many differences between countries and the way the people live but I think it would fun to learn some similarities between our culture and others.


I am looking to major in sports broadcastings specifically so I really love everything about sports. My favorite sport to play is volleyball and my favorite to watch is hockey. My favorite sports team is the Chicago Blackhawks. I love finding new music that isn't very popular yet and I love watching old movies, Dirty Dancing is one of my favorites. In general I just really enjoy spending time with my friends and family and traveling around the country.
