My name is Carly Ficke, and I am a 22 year-old Lincoln-native senior, studying Spanish and minoring in Communications and Child, Youth, and Family Studies. Throughout my 4 years at UNL, I have taken about one online class per semester and have loved it! I appreciate the flexibility, not having to physically be in class three times a week, and the overall organization that online professors seem to have.
I am interested in Intercultural Comm because I feel a real draw to open myself up to other cultures/ways of thinking. My major has opened lots of doors to gain cultural understanding. I studied abroad in Spain, and so can understand and appreciate the need for intercultural communication. I am excited for this class!
Outside of school, my time is mostly spent with my three incredible sisters and parents, my dashing fiancé, and pursing my hobbies. I really enjoy traveling, hiking, singing, dancing, reading, and organizing things. The next countries on my traveling radar are Thailand and Italy.
